Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry
Faculty member of Organic Chemistry Department
A. Sharifi obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Shiraz working on oxidation of organic functional groups. He then awarded a scholarship for Ph.D. studies in Sharif University of Technology in 1992, where he studied microwave promoted organic reactions and palladium catalyzed amination of fluorenes for preparation of near IR absorbed compounds under the supervision of Professor Matloubi. Dr. Sharifi has sabbatical leave experience at the University of Waterloo and Institute of Organic Chemistry at Justus-Liebig University. After graduation in 1996, he was appointed as an assistant professor at the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research center of Iran (CCERCI). He is currently associate professor of Organic Chemistry at CCERCI, Faculty of Organic Chemistry and Natural Products. His research interests include the study of ionic liquid mediated reactions, organic synthesis, and green chemistry.
-Synthesis of Bioactive Molecules and Pharmaceutical Chemistry
-New Methodologies in Organic Synthesis (including Green Chemistry, Microwave Assisted Organic Reactions, New Solvent for Organic Synthesis)
-Catalytic Organic Reactions (Especially Copper, Palladium and Zirconium catalyst)
