Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry
Faculty member of Physical Chemistry Department
Sholeh Hamzehzadeh received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry (with Professor MT. Zafarani-Moattar) from the University of Tabriz in 2004 and 2010, respectively. Dr. Hamzehzadeh joined Chemisty & Chemical Engineering Research Center of Iran (CCERCI) in September 2011. She received in 2012 the "Dr. Kezemi Ashtiani research grant award" for young assistant professor from "Iran National Elites Foundation". Her research interests are in the area of the characterization of pure ionic liquids (ILs) properties, their solubility in aqueous salt solutions, and the understanding of their phase behavior in aqueous environments. She has been interested in novel IL-based ABS for biomolecules purification. She currently serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of "The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics (Elsevier)" and also as an editorial board member of the scientific-promotion journal of "Green Chemistry and Sustainable Technology (in Persian)".
-Research in the Hamzehzadeh group is primarily focused on the high-quality measurement and prediction of thermophysical properties.
-Ionic liquids: thermophysical characterization, their solubility in aqueous salt solutions, understanding of their phase behaviour in aqueous environments, and their potential use in the desulfurization of fuels.
-Aqueous biphasic systems (IL-based & polymer-based) ABS for the extraction and purification of biomolecules.
-The molecular-level mechanisms responsible for ABS two-phase formation and their aptitude for biomolecules extraction.
